If you want the memorial kept consistently cared for, a maintenance plan is better value: because the stone never falls back into heavy soiling, each visit is lighter work, which is why quarterly care from £45 costs less per visit than repeated deep cleans.
Why does a very dirty or blackened headstone cost more?+
Heavy biological black crust and thick lichen cannot be safely rushed. They are softened and lifted slowly with a stone-safe biocide, sometimes across more than one visit, rather than scrubbed or blasted off, which would damage the stone. More time and care means a price toward the upper end, and we always tell you honestly what a clean can and cannot achieve before you commit.
Can I get a price without you visiting first?+
Often, yes. If you send a few clear photographs of the memorial along with the cemetery name and plot reference, we can usually give you an accurate written quote without a separate visit. For heavily weathered or fragile stones we may want to assess in person, but there is never a charge for that and never any obligation.
